Even though we both grew up here, neither of us really gained a true appreciation for living in Coeur d' Alene, ID until we moved across the country. 3 years later, we are back in this great state ready to rediscover the old and explore the new!

Christmas in New York
We had a blast in New York despite the massive crowds of people and pretty much got our fill of it for quite a while. It has probably been about 10 years since I was there last and it will probably be another 10 or so before we go back. :) We like a much more simple way of life. It is a fun place to visit though...we found a quaint little "boutique" hotel as they call it called Night which was a half block from Times Square. I would definitely stay there again as we were able to walk pretty much everywhere from there. We arrive Christmas Day on the train (which by the way is the BEST way to travel...if you aren't going to far) and had reservations for a restaurant in Rockefeller Plaza which served an excellent 3 course meal! The next 3 days were packed full of all the touristy things as we had purchased The New York Pass so we had to get our money's worth! On Sunday, we had theater tickets for a smaller production called Speed the Plow which was supposed to star Jeremy Piven (we love him in Entourage). Anyway, about a week before we were there, his Dr. advised him to stop working due to mercury poisoning or something like that...go figure. The play was still good, just not quite the same.
The whole atmosphere of the city was very Christmas like yet it just wasn't the same...it was our first Christmas away from home and while we went through all of the motions of a regular holiday, it just didn't feel like Christmas. We will get back into the tradition soon enough though! Well, that's all for now...Check out the rest of our NY pics on our link to Picasa!
